How new floor joists are fitted

In this video we cut and fix a series of new floor joists between the steel beams that support the new structure. The joists are designed to carry all the new floor loads and never come in contact with the existing ceiling joists that remain below to carry the existing lath and plaster ceilings
The joists are notched between the steels and bridging noggins are used to space them correctly
The whole job is made easier using a Paslode first fix nail gun especially useful when working in the eves of a loft
